We visited love.fish while in Australia in November last year and had a really lovely experience. The food was good and the ambiance was great. It was windy when we were there, which made sitting outside feel extra comfy and relaxing. The staff were very accommodating, and it was also my first time trying barramundi, which I ended up really liking. Overall, a great spot for good food and a chill dining experience.
We dropped in here on Australia Day for lunch without a booking. The staff were lovely and we were attended to many times while waiting. The food was SO good! Not cheap but not overly expensive either. Barramundi was really special and even though it’s a seafood focused restaurant the wagu beef pasta was delicious! We had a wonderful experience- totally recommend!
Fantastic seafood and creative cocktails at wonderful waterfront setting. You must try! One of Sydney's best without doubt. Understated and underrated. My wife and I shared multiple dishes of beautiful Syd rock oysters, sashimi scallops, Tas salmon, melt in your mouth fatty Tuna, salt and pepper squid and NT Barra. Simply delicious! Super attentive and friendly service. Any issues quickly sorted with a smile. Hard to beat. Plus reasonable prices!! We will be back. Don't hesitate.
Love Fish brings together the best Australian ingredients to elevate seafood and steak to the next level! The atmosphere is amazing, and the service is the best that I have had in Sydney. But the food is to die for. There were three of us, and we sampled a good selection from the menu. Every dish we had was spectacular. We started with the Salmon Ceviche, which was so smooth and flavourful. The Scallops with herb butter were so fresh, and the Chargrilled Octopus had a very soft texture rather than the usual rubbery texture elsewhere. For mains we had the steak, which was cooked to perfection, the Swordfish and the Salmon were equally fresh and delicious. A MUST try is the Brussel Sprouts. The service was impeccable - Rachel took excellent care of us, rounding out an excellent dining experience. I will be a regular at this restaurant now!
We tried the sample menu so that we can taste the restaurant’s highlights. All the starters are amazing. The fish for the main is great. But, salad and carbohydrate (pasta) for the main is pretty standard. We enjoyed the dessert. They have a good selection of wines.
Prasu was a brilliant waitress who offered great service. The food oozed flavour from the mains to the desserts. Highly recommend the chicken to die for. Plus the coconut ice cream amazing One of the top most food experiences we have ever had.
Spent lunch at this beautiful restaurant. Food quality and quantity were second to none. Complimenting the food was its service. Timing of our food was impeccable despite a busy afternoon.
We had a great experience at Love Fish. The staff member who was wearing black was extremely dedicated and helpful. We came specifically to try the fish and chips and asked if the batter could be made halal. He kindly said he would check with the chef, confirmed it for us, and the chef agreed. They served us one of the most delicious fish and chips without beer batter.
Love Fish – Brilliant Food, Bring a Fan Love Fish absolutely nails what matters most: the food and the wine. The wine list is excellent, the dishes are genuinely impressive, and the service is warm and efficient without hovering. But the verandah… mate. Boiling hot, blinds up, no fans, and I was melting faster than the ice in my water.. If you’re outside on a warm day, prepare to slow‑cook. The Food (aka the reason you go) - GF Salt & Pepper Squid – Don’t hesitate. It’s every bit as good as the regular version, light, crisp, and properly seasoned. - Salmon Hash Cakes – Aaaamazing. One of those dishes you start planning to reorder before you’ve even finished the first bite. - Olives to start – Simple, salty, perfect with a drink. - Fish & Chips – Exactly what it says on the tin: classic fish and chips, no twists, no fuss. - Crisp Skin Salmon & Asparagus, beautifully cooked, under cooked to perfection, skin crackling like pork crackling, asparagus done just right. - Hapuku Fillet – Beautifully cooked, melt‑in‑the‑mouth stuff. - Whole NZ Flat Fish – Brilliant. Cooked Mediterranean‑style with tomatoes and herbs, perfectly done, and the kind of dish that makes you stop mid‑conversation just to appreciate it. - Sides – We skipped them in favour of more starters, but they looked solid if you’re that way inclined. Drinks A dry rosé washed everything down beautifully. Great pairing with the seafood and the heat (even if the heat was doing its best to finish me off). Service Friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. No complaints here. The Only Downside The verandah. Lovely view, but on a hot day it turns into a slow‑roast chamber. A couple of fans or dropping the blinds would turn the experience from “delicious but sweaty” into “perfect”. --- Verdict Love Fish delivers exceptional food and wine with solid service. Just pick your seating wisely unless you enjoy being basted in your own juices. If you’re there for the seafood (and you should be), you’ll walk away happy.
